Voila!

When we purchased our home last year the dining room table and chairs came with the house.  And since my own heavy wood table did not fit in the new space, we sold it and kept the glass and metal set that was already there.  The chair cushions were UGLY!  And uninspiring, and bland, and  faded, and whatever.  I couldn't stand them.

Yep, pretty ugly ...

Then I found this -- and fell in love!  Just struck my fancy.  And my kitchen is gray, black and white so it's a good match.

I find it extremely hard to get a decent picture of the kitchen.  There is a skylight directly overhead and a sliding glass door in the dining room and the light just pours in.  Since all the appliances are stainless steel and the backsplash is stainless steel tiles, there is a lot of glare no matter when or how I try to get a picture.  This gives you an idea of the color.

And shortly I had this ...

That's more like it.  Just unscrew the chair seats from the frame, recover and reattach.  The seats themselves were in good condition so I didn't have to do any additional padding, etc.  One afternoon's work and everything felt new.

We're off to Las Vegas tomorrow for the weekend to attend the Gold Show with friends.  My husband is a "prospector" -- I'm a shopper.  Guess what I'll be doing while he's in seminar!

Until next time,

A Long Time Away

Oh my!  How quickly time passes!  I've been away from my blog since last September.  Life has a way of interfering with our best intentions.  Our oldest son has been in and out of the hospital five times since October with an undiagnosed condition.  Recently it seems to have subsided so I'm thinking I might be able to resume blogging again.  There are times when your mind and your body are overwhelmed with "stuff" and the creative juices and desire to be creative dry up.  Hopefully they will resume.

It's spring here in Lake Havasu and has been for almost two months.  It's the most wonderful time of year.  Sunny blue skies with warm days and cool nights.  Just the weather for getting outside -- called patio weather here.  The point being if you don't get out on your patio now and enjoy it, soon it will be so hot that you will fry!  I've learned over the last ten years living in Arizona not to let spring pass by without taking time to enjoy.

We moved into our new home last September in the midst of the summer heat ... oh joy!  You can see moving day here: The Move.  And we've been working on the finishing touches ever since.  There is a lot to do to make it what we envision it to be.  But it's been a lot of fun too.

Here are some before and after pictures:

Still need more wall decor ... I'm looking

The guest bath ...

The office ...

My husband works at home so we have two large office desks facing each other ... with lots of computer stuff ...

Master bedroom ...

Master bath ...

Still more to do ... will keep us busy in our old age!  Starting to work on the yard now ... it's rather large for a city lot and we've put in a garden to see what might grow here before the extreme heat hits.  Next year we'll start earlier ... Geo had to build three raised beds first to get started.  That's another story.

Untile next time ... make this a great day!
