Voila!

When we purchased our home last year the dining room table and chairs came with the house.  And since my own heavy wood table did not fit in the new space, we sold it and kept the glass and metal set that was already there.  The chair cushions were UGLY!  And uninspiring, and bland, and  faded, and whatever.  I couldn't stand them.

Yep, pretty ugly ...

Then I found this -- and fell in love!  Just struck my fancy.  And my kitchen is gray, black and white so it's a good match.

I find it extremely hard to get a decent picture of the kitchen.  There is a skylight directly overhead and a sliding glass door in the dining room and the light just pours in.  Since all the appliances are stainless steel and the backsplash is stainless steel tiles, there is a lot of glare no matter when or how I try to get a picture.  This gives you an idea of the color.

And shortly I had this ...

That's more like it.  Just unscrew the chair seats from the frame, recover and reattach.  The seats themselves were in good condition so I didn't have to do any additional padding, etc.  One afternoon's work and everything felt new.

We're off to Las Vegas tomorrow for the weekend to attend the Gold Show with friends.  My husband is a "prospector" -- I'm a shopper.  Guess what I'll be doing while he's in seminar!

Until next time,

  3. Great makeover, Ann! Love the fabric and the pattern it adds to this space. I like your countertop color. That is something we are hoping to change out in our new place this year. I need to keep it light in our kitchen because, unlike yours, I have no windows in it! We are in an open floor plan ranch condo and have to rely on natural light from the other rooms during the day, which is horrible for taking pictures. : ) Thanks for entering my giveaway. Good luck!
